John Lydon

John Lydon (b. 1956) is an English rock singer and songwriter. From 1975 to 1978, he was frontman of London punk band Sex Pistols and known as Johnny Rotten. He is lead singer of post-punk band Public Image Limited (PiL), of which the first of various incarnations was established in 1978.

Politics[edit]

Lydon is a supporter of conservative US President Donald Trump who opposes communism and woke ideology.[1]

Lydon endorsed Jacob Rees-Mogg to become Prime Minister of the UK in July 2022. Rees-Mogg described the endorsement as "incredibly kind".[2]

In 2022, Lydon blasted political correctness and cancel culture, stating "there's no understanding, no empathy for another point of view. No room for being an individual".[1]

He has also expressed admiration for former UKIP leader Nigel Farage.
