William King Brooks Jr. is an American experimental physicist currently working as a professor at the Federico Santa María Technical University in Chile.[1][2][3] He is most widely known for his work in research of high energy nuclear and particle physics. Brooks is currently the most cited scientist in Chile, and is currently serving on the board of the Center for Science & Technology in Valparaíso.[4][5][6] In January 2023, he began serving as the elected vice president of the American Physical Society's Topical Group on Hadronic Physics.[7]
