Kanihar is a small village of 427.4 hectares in Phulpur Tehsil in Allahabad district in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Kanihar depends on Jhusi (Np), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One Well supply which is 217.00% of the total supply, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Kanihar's pin code is 221507[4], and village code is 05467300. The area of Kanihar is segregated as 241.23 hectares irrigated area, 147.85 hectares unirrigated area. the 1.82 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves) and remaining 1.19 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The workforce is 1659 male, 528 female with 1146 (52.4%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 927 males and 219 females. 90 males and 19 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 106 male and 7 female agricultural labor. 1041 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jhusi (Np) and Allahabad to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
