Skylab was founded in 2005. Inc & Co Group, a Manchester-based conglomerate, acquired the company in 2020.[4][5][6] The following year, Skylab merged with Insight Analysis, a leading entity in performance analysis.[7]

The company is known for creating digital strategies and solutions for broadcasters like BBC Sport, football clubs such as Manchester United and Manchester City,[8][9] Formula 1 teams including Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso, and national and international sports federations including England Athletics, Swim England, UK Coaching, the British Paralympic Association, AIBA (Boxing), ITTF (Table Tennis),[10] FIFA, and the International Olympic Committee.[11][12]
