Essential businesses defines an organization, company and their workers that are to stay open during a National Emergency. The state decides which businesses are essential and which are non-essential. The essential business declaration is a tool that keeps the economy running while forcing non-essential businesses to close. Some essential categories included food and beverage stores, gas stations, transportation sector, hotels and hardware stores, health facilities, etc.
