Active Vacancy

From Conservapedia

An active vacancy is a position vacancy where there is currently no incumbent in or lined up to fill the position, but where the organization has plans to fill the position at some time in the near future. The vacancy ceases to be "active" when either 1) the position is filled, or 2) a decision is made not to fill the position (the latter does not mean that it is formally abolished, the duties may simply be performed by others until a decision is made to either abolish it or to fill it).
